Global Medical Brigades

Global Medical Brigades is a newly established student organization at Fairfield University dedicated to increasing access to healthcare while providing students with meaningful experience in global health. In July 2027, our chapter plans to travel to Panama to participate in a Medical Brigade alongside local healthcare professionals and Global Brigades staff. Students will assist with community health initiatives and support the delivery of healthcare services while learning about the social, economic, and environmental factors that influence health.

Rather than providing only short-term assistance, Global Brigades works with communities through a sustainable development model designed to strengthen healthcare access over time. Our fundraising efforts will help reduce the financial burden of participating in the brigade so that cost is less of a barrier for Fairfield students who want to participate. Through this project, we hope to establish a strong foundation for Global Medical Brigades at Fairfield and create opportunities for future students to continue participating in global health initiatives.
